BCHIMPS is the premier not-for-profit organization for those involved with all aspects of health information management in BC. To maintain and build upon the success of the organization, BCHIMPS needs a strong, dedicated volunteer Board of Directors (“the Board”).
The next important BCHIMPS volunteer opportunity is to join the Board; there are 3 open positions. As a BCHIMPS member, here is your opportunity help shape the organization for the coming years.
In applying to join the BCHIMPS Board, you are making a commitment to serve your health informatics community. As a Board member, you will be asked to attend the monthly board meetings and serve on board committees. You can expect to spend two hours per committee meeting as well as at least one hour per board meeting, per month. Generally speaking, a commitment of approximately eight to ten hours per month (for reading, preparation and meeting attendance) will meet your obligations to the Board. Attendance at the full-day educational conferences is required.
In compliance with the Society Constitution and Bylaws, BCHIMPS must hold an Annual General Meeting (AGM) where, following the results of the election, the members of the Board for the upcoming year will be ratified. The AGM will be held on May 21st, 2015.
